Privacy Policy
What QuSecure collects when you use this site, who receives it, how long we keep it, and the rights you can exercise over it.
Last updated
QuSecure, Inc. ("QuSecure", "we", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of the customers, partners and visitors who use this website. This policy says what personal information qusecure.com collects, where it comes from, why we use it, who we give it to, how long we keep it, and what you can tell us to do about it.
It covers qusecure.com and its subdomains, the forms on them, and the marketing communications you receive from us. It does not govern data processed inside a customer's own deployment of QuProtect, which is covered by that customer's agreement with us.
Where the law of your country, province or state requires your consent before we set a non-essential cookie or use a similar tracking technology, we set none until you have answered the consent banner. Elsewhere those technologies are active unless you tell us otherwise, and this policy explains every way you can tell us.
Information We Collect
In the twelve months before the date shown with the title of this policy, we have collected the following categories of personal information. A category we do not collect is not listed.
- Identifiers: your name, email address, telephone number, employer and job title or role, plus anything else you choose to type into a form on this site. From your device: your IP address, and the cookie and device identifiers named in our Cookie Policy.
- Commercial information: the documents you download, the demonstrations and briefings you request, and the products and topics you tell us you are interested in.
- Internet and network activity: the pages you view on this site, how you arrived, how long you stay, and how you interact with our advertising on other platforms.
- Approximate location, inferred from your IP address at the level of a country or region. We do not collect precise geolocation.
- Professional information: your role, your employer, and the responsibilities you describe to us.
- Inferences drawn from the above about the products and content likely to be relevant to you.
Where That Information Comes From
- From you, when you fill in a form, email us, subscribe to something, or register for an event.
- From your browser, automatically, through cookies and similar technologies. The Cookie Policy names each one and what it is for.
- From service providers acting for us, including HubSpot, which runs the forms on this site, and Google, which measures how visitors reach us.
- From public and third-party sources, such as a professional profile you have made public, or a business partner who tells us you asked to hear from us.
How We Use Your Information
- Delivering a product, document or service you have requested.
- Responding to you, and contacting you about what you asked us for.
- Analyzing, supporting and improving our products, this website and your experience of it.
- Personalizing the website, our newsletters and other communications.
- Sending you marketing communications about QuSecure products and services, and inviting you to events and briefings.
- Conducting research, including surveys about our current or potential services.
- Measuring whether our advertising reaches the audience it is meant for.
- Keeping the site and our systems secure, and preventing and investigating fraud and misuse.
- Meeting our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations, and establishing or defending legal claims.
When We Share Your Information
We share personal information in these ways and no others:
- Service providers and contractors who perform work for us: website hosting, email delivery, the customer relationship system (HubSpot), analytics (Google) and consent management (CookieYes). Each is permitted to use your information only to perform that work for us, and is required to keep it confidential.
- Business partners, where you asked to be introduced to one, or where the form you submitted said so at the point you filled it in. Where we contact you on a partner's behalf about an offering, your name, email address and telephone number are not transferred to that partner.
- Legal and safety: we will disclose personal information without your consent only where we are required to by law, or where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with legal process, to protect and defend QuSecure's rights or property, or to act in exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of our services or of the public. We may also be required to share information with government authorities for the verification of identity, or for the prevention, detection, investigation, prosecution or punishment of cyber incidents or offenses.
- A corporate transaction: if QuSecure is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, personal information may be among the assets transferred, subject to this policy.
Sale and Sharing for Advertising
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not rent or lease it.
California and several other states define "sale" and "sharing" more broadly than an exchange for money. When the advertising and analytics cookies described in our Cookie Policy are active, identifiers about your visit reach Google and HubSpot. Under California law that counts as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, and under some other state laws it may count as a "sale". We treat it as both, which is why the opt-out routes below apply to it. The categories involved are the identifiers and internet activity described above.
We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16 years of age.
Opt-Out Preference Signals
We process the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information, and no analytics or advertising cookie is set. This applies wherever you are visiting from, takes effect without your answering the banner or identifying yourself to us, and applies to that browser on that device. Firefox and Brave send the signal by default; other browsers offer it as a setting or through an extension.
The Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer of every page does the same thing through the cookie preferences panel, and is available whether or not your browser sends a signal. You can use it at any time to change a choice you made earlier.
Sensitive Personal Information
We do not ask for, and do not knowingly collect, the categories the law treats as sensitive: racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, union membership, health, sex life or sexual orientation, precise geolocation, government-issued identifiers, genetic or biometric data, or the contents of your mail, email and messages. We do not use personal information to infer characteristics of that kind about you. If we ever need to collect sensitive personal information, we will ask for your explicit consent first and tell you why.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, some or all of the following rights are yours by law:
- Know and access. Ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, who we disclosed it to, and receive a copy.
- Delete. Ask us to delete what we hold about you, subject to the exceptions the law allows.
- Correct. Ask us to fix personal information that is inaccurate.
- Opt out of sale and sharing. Tell us to stop sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, by either of the routes described above.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you, so there is nothing here to limit, but the right exists and we will answer a request about it.
- Withdraw consent you have given, at any time. Withdrawing it does not make what we did beforehand unlawful.
- Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny you a service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality of service because you asked.
- Appeal. If we decline a request, you may ask us to reconsider it. We will tell you the outcome and the reason for it.
- Complain to a regulator. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Quebec, you may complain to your supervisory authority. If you are in a US state with a privacy law, you may complain to your state attorney general.
How to Exercise Your Rights
Neither route requires you to hold an account with us.
- To opt out of advertising and analytics, use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer of every page, or send an opt-out preference signal from your browser. Both take effect immediately, in the browser, with nothing for you to submit.
- For every other right, email info@qusecure.com, saying what you are asking for and giving us enough detail to find you. We will confirm we have received the request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need longer, we will tell you within that period and explain why.
How We Verify a Request
Before we act on a request to know, delete or correct, we have to be reasonably sure the request is yours. We will ask you to confirm information we already hold and match it against our records, in proportion to how sensitive the information is. We use what you give us for verification only, and we do not create a record of you in order to verify one. If we cannot verify you to the standard the law requires, we will tell you why. An opt-out request does not require verification and we will act on it either way.
Authorized Agents
You may name someone to make a request on your behalf. We may ask that agent for written permission signed by you, and we may ask you to confirm directly that you gave it.
How We Store and Secure Your Information
We store the personal information you give us, such as your name, contact number and email address, on secure servers, encrypted, and reachable only by QuSecure's own applications rather than by unrelated third-party websites or applications.
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized or unlawful use and against accidental loss or destruction, including:
- Sharing and providing access to your information only to the minimum extent necessary, subject to confidentiality restrictions where appropriate, and on an anonymized basis wherever possible;
- Storing your information on secure servers;
- Verifying the identity of anyone who requests access to information before granting it; and
- Encrypting information in transit between your browser and this website.
Where Your Information Is Processed
QuSecure is based in the United States, and the service providers named in this policy process information in the United States and elsewhere. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Quebec, this means your personal information may be transferred outside your own country. Where such a transfer requires a legal basis, we rely on the mechanisms the law provides, including the standard contractual clauses in our agreements with those providers.
How Long We Keep It
We keep each category of personal information for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, and then for as long as we have a legal reason to keep it. In practice:
- Cookie and device identifiers: for the lifetime of the individual cookie, which the cookie preferences panel lists for each one.
- Form submissions and the contact record they create: for as long as you are a customer or a prospect we are in contact with, and afterwards for as long as we need to meet our record-keeping, tax and audit obligations, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
- Marketing subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, plus a record of the unsubscribe itself, so that we can go on honouring it.
Where a longer period is required by law, that period applies.
E-mail Communications
To help us make our emails more useful and more interesting, we often receive a confirmation when you open an email from qusecure.com, if your email software supports it. We also compare our contact list against lists received from other companies, in an effort to avoid sending unnecessary messages. If you would rather not receive marketing email from us, use the unsubscribe link in any message, or write to info@qusecure.com.
Children
This website is intended for a business audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to info@qusecure.com and we will delete it.
Other Websites
We encourage you to read the privacy statement of any website you reach from a link on this one, so that you understand how it collects, uses and shares your information. QuSecure is not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of websites outside the QuSecure family of websites.
Changes to This Policy
We review this policy at least once every twelve months and update it when what we do changes. The date shown with the title is when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use personal information we have already collected from you, we will tell you before it takes effect.
