Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) migration is not a simple patch or a straightforward upgrade, it is a fundamental transformation that confronts decades of cryptographic entanglement across global enterprise infrastructure. From legacy mainframes and industrial control systems to modern cloud-native architectures, cryptography is deeply embedded, often hardcoded, undocumented, and invisible until it breaks.

This labyrinthine complexity makes PQC migration one of the most pressing and technically daunting challenges of the quantum era. As Rebecca Krauthamer, CEO of QuSecure, aptly notes, “Enterprises today rely on decades’ worth of infrastructure — from mainframes and programmable logic controllers to cloud VMs and containerized microservices.” Each of these nodes in the digital ecosystem brings its own cryptographic dependencies, assumptions, and vulnerabilities.
